LOVE OR SOMETHING LIKE IT

How many times have you met someone that you thought is the one you want to spend your life with? Or should I say how many times have you found “the one”? Not a simple question to answer, isn’t it. Even I find this question a bit tricky myself. I mean love is not my area of expertise, however I do realize that it takes it’s time. For some, it takes years for some it takes just months. However it does take its own time. You must have guessed by now that I don’t believe in love at first sight.
And I don’t believe when friends tell me that I love this girl when they haven’t even spoken to them once. To me that’s something which can never happen in this world. People might have different opinion about this, but that’s just me.
Let me tell you about something that happened not a while ago. A friend of mine, known him since childhood. More like a cousin to me, would come up to me and tells me
“Dude!! Once in a lifetime there comes a girl, who you take to your parents and tell them, mom and dad this is the girl I wanna marry and spend my life with. This is that girl”.
Let me also be clear on this, he saw her first at a party and before they knew each other well he asked her out to which she said yes. It’s been like 3 months since they have been dating.
And my reaction to that? No way in hell dude, this is not happening!! That was the only thing in my mind that I could think of when I heard him saying that. Though I did not say anything at that time, I was sort of trying not to laugh, to be honest. I mean come on, they haven't even known each other well. Just three months and this bold statement? That came as a real shocker. In all honesty though, I was kind of expecting it to come but not this soon.
So it happened and they would go on dating for another 6 months, acting more like a celebrity couple. After few days though, they broke up for reasons best known to them. They wouldn’t tell me so I did not even bother asking. He was a bit disappointed, but me being one of those guys who would just grab these kind of opportunities to bring someone down, couldn’t just let it go. I still enjoy making fun of him for what he had said and I am being honest, it’s frigging awesome.
I am telling you this story as I have always been with the old school of thoughts about love that it takes time and does not happen at first sight. Infatuations or crushes can be develop at first sight but not love. I have always believed in three steps that leads to love. It starts with a crush or infatuation, which is the first step. Then moves to friendship, that is the second step. At the final and the third step it eventually reaches love. This is the theory about love that I always believed in. You might not agree with me; however that is what I think. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion and it’s too frigging sad if ours differ from each other.

OUT WITH KENNY DALGLISH?

“And Liverpool is the 2012 Carling Cup champions” that echoed through Wembley Stadium about 16 days ago. Everyone thought that this win will boost Liverpool FC’s already crumbling season and maybe inspire them to 4th place finish. However, within 7 days of that historic win, Liverpool suffered a huge setback to their quest for the top 4 finish, when they lost 1-2 to Arsenal at Anfield, though Liverpool played superb game still they could not win it. A missed penalty and hitting the woodwork twice and some great finishing from RVP did the trick for Arsenal. This would also be the first home defeat for the Reds this season.  The dust of that home defeat to Arsenal did not even settle yet and Reds were condemned to their second successive league defeat in as many weeks. This time around the Reds deserved to lose at the Stadium of Light. It was a match easily worth forgetting for every Red all over the world.
It has just been 16 days since Kenny Dalglish lead Liverpool to first trophy since 2006. However that achievement seems to be forgotten by some “Fans” who apparently want him out of the club. I have been reading a lot of things on twitter and other sites related to Liverpool FC about the displeasure few people have in Kenny.
I would not go into the debate “we should not criticize Kenny because he has done this or that in the past”. Because everyone knows what he has done for us in the past, so I feel we don’t need to go back to those days. However, if we are talking about the present day, then I would very much like to point out that he is the Man to lead us to our first trophy in 6 years. And there could be one more in the same season. So I don’t think that it is a bad season. If we put our focus to the league then yes, I would have to admit that things did not the way we had expected when the season began. He spent huge amount of money on players who have not performed barred Bellamy and Enrique, almost everyone has more or less disappointed us throughout the season with inconsistent performances. In the league there were a lot of matches which we should have won easily, but missed penalties and the woodwork (mind you we have hit it more than 30 times till now) cost us the 3 points and these matches either ended in a draw or a loss. We all saw how the team played throughout the season so far and I don’t think it is only Kenny’s mistake or his fault. If he is responsible for the poor showing then I think the entire team is equally to be blamed. We all have spoken widely about Kenny’s line-ups and team selection. However, under Kenny every senior player has got fair share of chances but results have remained the same. So, if Kenny is to go then I guess we should as well change the entire team and bring in new players. But that is not my point, my point however, is that yes, in the league we haven’t had the luck but we are doing well in the domestic cups. Am I disappointed at the position we are in right now, yes, I am very much and it hurts more to look back and realize that we should have been in a better position had it not been for the missed chances. However, we all know that the team has played great football in the league so far.
In my view King Kenny is doing his job perfectly. What he needs right now is patience from true supporters and what he does not need right now is the so called “fans” who are happy only when the team is winning. I am not saying that I love losing or drawing a game but yes, we can’t always win though. We need to understand that it’s his first full season in charge and he is building a team that would be great in next 2-3 seasons. All we need is patience. I hate to say it but we should learn patience from our bitterest rivals Man Utd. Fergie joined United in 86 as the manager and it was only in 89-90 season that he won the first trophy. Kenny is doing far better than that; he has won 1 trophy already and in the line to win another one. Not reaching top 4 would surely hurt but that is not the end, this is just the beginning. King Kenny has already instilled the belief in us and he will change all these beliefs into reality. It is just a matter of time.

IN KENNY WE TRUST. LONG LIVE THE KING.
